Projects and Passions
The BYSO Flute Orchestra is an advanced chamber ensemble for flutes. Flute Orchestra consists of Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra flutists who were placed at the Philharmonia level after auditioning. Because orchestras need only a few flutes at a time, these students take turns playing in Philharmonia during the year while also practicing and performing in the Flute Orchestra ensemble.

Silver Flight Ensembles organization’s overall mission is to help aspiring flutists achieve their dreams. Through providing educational workshops and performance opportunities, we hope to encourage, develop, train, and support young musicians.
A true Puget Sound tradition, the Seattle Philharmonic is an orchestra of community members who share a passion for music. As a member-run organization, the Phil has the special opportunity to offer unique programming and to share in the northwest community: involving local soloists, artists and Washington notables. Sandra Saathoff acts as principal flute for the orchestra.
